macOS 14.5, tvOS 17.5, watchOS 10.5 and HomePod OS 17.5 available
In addition to iOS and iPadOS 17.5, all other operating systems from the iPhone manufacturer have also been updated. There are security fixes for old versions.

Updates for all systems: Following the deployment of iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5, Apple also gave macOS, watchOS, tvOS and HomePod OS new versions on Monday evening. The updates are rather minor in nature, but fix some dangerous gaps, which is why it is advisable to install them soon.
macOS 14.5 with many holes plugged
macOS 14.5 comes - at least outside the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Australia - completely without a package insert on the computer. The reason: The only officially communicated innovations concern the paid content media service Apple News+, which is only available in the four countries mentioned. In the regions covered, Apple is delivering a new word puzzle, "Quartiles", and is creating a new ranking (scoreboard) in the News+ puzzle category for "Mini Crossword", "Crossword" and the aforementioned Quartiles, which can be used to compete with other players. "Some features may not be available in all regions or on all Apple devices," Apple writes succinctly.
Furthermore, over 20 security vulnerabilities have been patched, including several that allowed code to be executed with kernel rights. At least this time there don't seem to be any zero-days that are already being exploited. Apple provides credits for gaps in a total of seven areas, but does not provide any further details - these are likely to be provided in the coming weeks. Some of the fixes are also included in macOS 13.6.7 and macOS 12.7.5, but unfortunately not all of them. Apple has not updated Safari.
watchOS, tvOS, HomePod OS
watchOS 10.5 brings a new "Pride Radiance" watch face to the watch. It is part of Apple's LGBTQ+ collection this year, which also includes a new Solo Loop wristband. The update fixes a total of seven security vulnerabilities, while Apple is still withholding details on four other areas.
tvOS 17.5 is being delivered by Apple without details of its content. It fixes at least five security issues, Apple does not specify three other fixes. Finally, an update to HomePod OS 17.5 is available for download for owners of the HomePod 1, 2 and mini. As is typical for Apple, there is no information on this yet, not even on security-related bug fixes.
